Q: do you have a studio? where will my session be? Do you find locations or do i? how many locations will be included?
A: Yes, I have a beautiful studio located in the Squalicum Lofts in Bellingham. You can choose to have your session done in the studio, on location, or both! We will work together during your consultation to choose the location that best fits your unique style. The number of locations will depend of the session or package booked.
Q: when should i book my session? what is the best time of day to shoot?
A: The sooner the better! I recommend booking your session by spring of your junior year. August, September and October are the most favorable months, and they fill up very quickly. You will also need to have enough time to choose your yearbook photo and submit it by the deadline, which is usually the end of October.
Lighting is essential for making beautiful portraits, this is why I always recommend shooting 2-3 hours before sunset if shooting on location.
Q: What should i wear? How many outfits do I bring? Will there be help with styling?
A: Not sure what to wear? No worries, I’m here to help! During your consultation, we will discuss what outfits you should bring, based on your style, the location you’ve chosen and what is the most flattering for your body type.
Q: Can i have a friend or family member in some of my pictures?
A: Absolutely! We can chat about the details during your consultation.
Q: I have no idea where to shoot! Do you have suggestions?
A: There are SO many gorgeous spots in our area! We will discuss what features you’d like to include in your photos (water, fields, flowers, urban…) during your consultation! If you’d like to see some examples of images in different locations, check out my “Locations Guide!”

Q: Ok, I’m ready to book! What are the next steps?
A: Woohoo! Hit the “Book Now” button to fill out my contact form. Once we pick a date for your session, I will send an invoice for the 50% deposit (to hold your date). I will also send over my Senior Questionnaire for you to fill out. It’s a great way for me to get to know a little bit about you! Finally, we will need to pick a date for you to swing by my studio for your consultation. It’s usually a quick 30-40 minute meeting where we can chat about the details of your shoot, discuss what to wear, location options, how to prepare, etc.
